When Violence Becomes Decandent
For the exhibition at the Freise Museum in Berlin, the artist continues the process of adding more layers to her evolving installation. This time by adding a series of newer works and a whole new installation that further explores the precarious position of girls in urban settings and commodification of sex. The new work is inspired by her previous assignments on the craft villages of Bengal, particularly the "wig makers". She uses these as personifications the issue of commodification.

In this exhibition Leena's photographs are truthful testaments to this eastern dream of expansion and the rise of the technopolis on the former citys carcass.

A life Of Its Own
A life Of Its Own Series
Leena Kejriwal´s photographs in this series is a fine example of fine art photography. In the series Life of its Own, Leena, adequately captures the beauty of still life.
These photographs seek to show 'life' in the 'stills' created on the roadside through objects we see everyday. Objects simmering and pregnant with life are perfect 'still lives' to the photographer, and are found aplenty at teashops, with vendors and such.

Babu Bibi Series
Kolkata Photographer Leena Kejriwal´s Babu Bibi Series
In this series her work on the commercial studio portrait takes a new meaning for the Kolkata installation artist. In the Babu Bibi Series Leena uses her studio to recreate portraits of buxom and sultry bibi's who transcend time and walk out of pages of history into the current lifestyle scenario and personify all women wallowing in excess.
The babu bibi series is a graphic take on the 19th century Kalighat Ghat Pats of Bengal in my effort to depict "Kolkata Indulging". Each tell a story and have a story..hope you enjoy reading them.

Hampi—Living History
It was my first time on an art camp and I could not have chosen a better location specially with my love for history. Hampi, the site of the Vijayanagar Empire and the Monkey Kingdom of Kishkinda was simply enthralling with it’s history not only lingering but living too in some quarters.
